Silver & Cutlery Care

Silver Polishing, Done at Your Table

Our mobile workshop brings ultrasonic cleaning and careful polishing to the cutlery you use every day and the silver you keep for best. Each piece is inspected first, so heirloom silver, plated sets and stainless steel each receive the treatment that suits them.

What we do

  • Ultrasonic cleaning lifts hardened food residue from tines, engraving and joins that a cloth or dishwasher cannot reach.
  • Machine polishing restores an even finish to stainless steel and mixed-metal cutlery.
  • Silver, silver-plated and antique pieces are polished by hand where needed, preserving hallmarks and wanted patina.
  • UV-C sanitisation is included as a final hygiene stage for cutlery in every package.
  • Suitable premium pieces can receive a museum-grade conservation wax coating to slow future tarnish.

Honest limits

Polishing cannot replace silver plating that has already worn through, and it does not remove deep dents. Pieces with cracked or loose handles are treated by hand only, or returned untreated if that is the safer choice.

Questions & Answers

Can you polish silver-plated cutlery without removing the plating?+

Yes. Plated pieces are inspected first and treated with gentle ultrasonic cleaning and careful polishing rather than aggressive abrasion, so the plating is preserved. Where the plating has already worn through, we will tell you honestly before we begin.

How often should silver cutlery be polished?+

Silver used every day usually benefits from professional care once or twice a year, and before special occasions. Silver kept in a drawer tarnishes more slowly, but still darkens over time, especially in damp rooms.

Will you remove the patina from antique silver?+

Only if you want us to. We distinguish between contamination, which we remove, and the soft patina that gives antique silver its character, which we can leave in place.
